ABOUT ANASTASIA

Anastasia Sergeevna Razumova is a queer folk artist and aspiring author. As an international adoptee, she was born by the Cheptsa River in Kirov Oblast, Russia, where she draws creative inspiration from for her artistry. She was raised in the United States near Washington D.C. and currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her beloved family.

 

Anastasia earned her Bachelor's degree in Literature and Creative Writing from American University in 2023, where she focused on studying Medieval and Renaissance literature.
 

Anastasia is most excited about producing her stop-motion animated series, Dymkovo Diaries, on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The show follows a group of clay animal friends, inspired by those from her culture, going on adventures together in a whimsical and colorful world. When she is not making art or writing, she can be found knitting and crocheting, making traditional Tatar embroidery, spending time with her loving family, and planting her garden. She is greatly inspired by flower symbolism, illuminated manuscripts, and Eastern European folk art. Anastasia works with a variety of media but mainly creates her best artwork with acrylic and watercolor paints.

As someone dedicated to making a difference, she also contributes her creative skills towards humanitarian and fundraising efforts for Ukraine. She serves as the website and social media manager of the 501(c)(3) organization, The Sunflower Coalition. Despite life’s challenges, Anastasia sees the potential for a brighter future for herself and all humankind.​
